Primrose Sewing is offering a six-week session of Spring Sewing Classes which begin the weekend of Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2. They culminate in the second annual Primrose Sewing: Spring Fashion Show on Sunday, April 28 with the spring students modeling the dresses and skirts sewn during the classes! (Send us a message through the contact page for more event details.)
FOUR-SQUARE PILLOW
During classes on the first week, the students will sew a four-square pillow with cotton and flannel fabric! We will offer many fabric color and pattern choices. They will also design their skirts and dresses with colored pencils, so we can purchase fabric to their specifications.
PEASANT DRESS
Each student will create a paper design of her own Peasant Dress colors and then sew a dress to wear in the Spring Fashion Show!
SIMPLE SKIRT
Spring sewing students will also choose the colors for their simple skirt. They will sew a waistband, the seam, and a color-blocked hem. Students will showcase this project at the Spring Fashion Show!
MUG RUGS AND ALL-CLASS QUILT
For our service projects in spring, we will sew Mug Rugs for residents of a local assisted living community (fabric patterns will vary and mug is not included) and sew an All-Class Quilt to be raffled at the Spring Fashion Show to benefit Sew for Hope, a Nashville nonprofit that teaches refugee women to sew.
SURPRISE PROJECT
As usual, Abby is planning a surprise project during one of the weeks of Spring Sewing Classes! Past surprises have include a Bunny Bag and Fabric Ball. The students especially look forward to this class!
SPRING FASHION SHOW
The first Spring Fashion Show featured 20 students modeling their clothes for an enthusiastic crowd of more than 100 guests! The Quilt Raffle raised $270 for the Sew for Hope cause. We look forward to hosting the big event again this year!
